Sekatul Java Kampoeng

Sekatul is the name of place with java rural atmosphere. It is located in the slope of Ungaran Mountain in Sekatul, Margosari village, Kendal regency.

This location is situated in the range of hills of Medini with has a width about 10 hectares area. This place is very enchanting with the beautiful carpet of paddy fields, strawberry and vanilla plantation, and fishing pond. This place is also used for planting herbs, fruits, flowers, and animal husbandry.

For serving guest, Sekatul also equips a house called Joglo with antique Javanese architecture for resting the body after do activities. Facilities in Sekatul are: hotel for family and group, restaurant, camping ground, fishing pond, garden for making party, meeting room, and surau (Islamic prayer house).

Medini itself is situated in Gonoharjo hot water bathing place complex, Ngesrep village, Kendal regency. It is tea plantation that has 700 – 1600 meters high from sea level. The weather is about 24.6 Celsius degree. This plantation is open for taking a walk to go along the tea plantation area. Beside that, there are some activities that can be seen; making of palm sugar and blinds made of thin bamboo slats.

Other interesting places in Medini are Curug Lawe water fall, and cave with about 24 rooms. From this place visitor can also see the beautiful scenery of Ungaran Mountain and the valley of Ungaran town.

Tlogo Tourism Village

Tlogo Plantation lives on Delik Village, sub district of Semarang Regency, Central Java Province, with its height of 400 – 675 meters above sea level with 415 hectares width. The Tlogo Plantation has cool weather, non-polluted fresh air that makes us satisfied in enjoying the beautiful view and scenery with various plantations, such as coffee, rubber, cloves, and nutmeg as well as tropical fruits such as durian, mangoes, banana, avocado, rambutan, guava, etc. Besides, we can also witness the beauty of Rawa Pening (Pening Swamp) from afar.

How to get there

It is easily accessed, by either private car or public transportation. The distance is about 40 kilometers from Semarang City, 60 kilometers from Solo, and 50 kilometers from Magelang or 80 kilometers from Yogyakarta.

Village Tour

Visitors can witness and enjoy the natural life around the Tlogo plantation. The old houses have native (local) village architecture; then, the visitors can continue to the rice field, natural spring-btah, join the milking-cow and rice-field plough tour.


Bungalow

Bungalows are prepared for visitors who want to stay the night and enjoy the village life-style longer. The bungalows are specially designed in ethnic style, and sometimes we smell the exotic fragrance around the bungalows when the coffee plantation is in blooming.

Coffee and Rubber Walk – Surrounding Tour
the roads around the coffee and rubber plantations are still natural. Local guides can lead the visitors who want to walk around the Tlogo plantation and show how to tap the rubber-sap and pick the coffee beans.

Coffee and Rubber Processing Tour
Visitors can see our old machines work to produce rubber and in separate place, another old machines produce coffee. Those old machines were made in England in 1932. While doing this tour visitors can also watch Kapok’s-climbing attraction.

Tanjung Tourism Village

It is located 5 km to the north of Monjali. In Yogyakarta, village tourism was introduced for the first time in 2001. Now, there are many places around Yogyakarta which have been developed as village tourism, for example Sambi, Trumpon, Gamplong and Tanjung in Sleman regency, and Kasongan and Tembi in Bantul regency. Tanjung village can be considered as the successful one, as village tourism. Visiting Tanjung, people could choose some programs. There almost 25 programs offered to learn cultural activities such as dancing, making traditional textile, knowing more about Javanese architecture, or learning how to cultivate sawah or rice field. Those programs are suitable for secondary or tertiary school students, and surely these programs would attract them. These students learning how to cultivate sawah or rice field programs are not only recreational in nature but also give knowledge and experience new skill for them.

Village tourism in Tanjung was managed by the village leaders and involves almost all people in the village to serve tourist who visit the area.

Accommodations for tourists are distributed in the local houses. Food for the tourists is also catered by the local people and they serve local menu as well. They also take parts as field operators such as trainer for dancing, batik or cultivation in the rice field and so on. It is no doubt that there are still possibilities for Yogyakarta to open many village tourisms with a specific program which is in accordance with village’s own characteristic such as cultivating plantation, farm or animal husbandry, learning about river’s ecology and folk arts, and etc.

In Tanjung we will find Joglo house, the big house with its wide yard and Pendopo (hall) can be used as lesehan (mat for sitting) for 100 – 200 people.

Tambi Tea Plantation

This tea garden is located in the road of Wonosobo to Dieng Plateau, exactly in Tambi village Kecamatan Kejajar. Tambi village is on 1200-2100 m above the sea level and the temperature around 19oC.

If you go to Dieng Plateau you can stop by in this garden to know the process of tea making, plant, nursery, harvest of tea until the last process of making black tea in the manufacture. Except that you can go for sightseeing through tea plantation and enjoy the natural atmosphere of mountains which has good scenery and fresh air. In the Dieng plateau you can visit rice straw mushroom that plant by/with PIR (Civil/Society main garden). Visitor can see the technique of rice straw mushroom plant, nursery and production of food.

In Wonosobo you can visit to the garden of florist that is managed by PT Dieng Jaya Horticulture Growers in Jl. Pasukan Ronggolawe 17 Longkrang, Wonosobo. The several of flowers can be bought in this flowers park. In this place there are also restaurant and music facilities of karaoke.

Gondang Winangoen

Gondang Winangoen Sugar Plant

This plant is located on the Yogya – Solo km. 4.5 avenue, exactly on the western of Klaten city, Central Java Province. It can be reached around 5 – 10 minutes from Adisucipto airport, Yogyakarta. This plant is established on 1860 and until right now the original condition is still there.

The main turbulence of the sugar was manufactured by water, but after James Watt finding steam power then it was used. The oldest machine in Gondang is B. Lahaye and Brissoneaf made in France 1884 and still work well till now.

The facilities offered in this Agro tourism Gondang Baru Sugar Plant are tours around the sugar plant by using locomotives, watching over the sugar manufacturing process (in the month of May – August). By seeing the one and only Sugar Museum in Indonesia and the 11th museum in the world, there is also a coffee shop.

Borobudur Orchid Park

Borobudur Orchid Park is located between the two tourism objects, Mendut Temple and Borobudur Temple. It has 1.3 hectares area with main plants:

All kinds of seeding: Dendrobium, Phaleonopsis, Oncidium, Florist (Florist of Dendrobium, Florist of Vanda Douglas, Florist of Scorpio/Arachnis Maggie Oei)

In around this area there are more than 1,000 kinds of Orchid. Because of that, it is strategic place to support Magelang tourism.

This park is owned by Local Government of Magelang Regency. In May 2000 it managed by Youth Club of Bojong village, Magelang Regency that included of Orchid Farmer Community.

For the long term Borobudur Orchid Park has aims to be the center of selling the Orchid in Magelang and to collect Orchid product from Orchid farmer in Magelang and the surrounding.

Coffee Kampong of Banaran

It is tourist place in coffee garden agro managed by PT. Perkebunan Nusantara IX (Ltd), garden state company in the Central Java, 15 units of plants and 8 units sugar manufacture.

Located around strategic route Joglosemar (Jogjkarta – Solo – Semarang) around Robusta coffee garden about 401 ha, it is the most productive Robusta coffee garden right now.

It is on the 480 – 600 meters above the sea level, average temperature 18 Celsius Degree, coffee Kampoeng of Banaran is a comfort place for enjoying the beauty of coffee garden.

With the main menu, some kinds of pure Robusta coffee, pure black tea, snacks and the varieties of traditional food.
